Features
Morang District is situated in the east of Nepal. It occupies an area of 1885 Sq Kilometer. The boundary line of the district touch as with Jhapa & Illam in the east. Dhankuta & Panchthar in the North, Sunsari in the west and Bihar state of India in the South.
Topographical Features:
The Longitude and Latitude of Morang District is 260 20'' to 260 53'' in the east and 870 16'' to 870 41'' North in the respectively. Geographically Morang District is divided into three regions-hill, Bhawar and Terai. The hill region is located in the northern part of the district. Most portion of the district fall under the terai region. Ratuwa, Bakraha, Chisang, Mawa, Singiya and Budhi are the main rivers of Morang district. Mawa is the eastern boarder of Morang, which separates it from Jhapa while as Budhi is the Western, which separates it from Sunsari district.
Climate Condition:
The climate of Morang district is Monsoon type. The maximum temperature of the district exceeds 400 c in summer season. Minimum temperature falls 130 c in winter season. The average annual rainfall is recorded 812.8 mm
Socio-economic status:
The district is populated by the people various tribes and casts bramhan, Chhetri, Tharu, Rai, Newar, Limbu, Satar, Rajbansi, Dhimal are some of main tribes. Each tribe has its own typical culture. Agriculture is the main occupation, but people are also engaged in business, industrial activities. Biratnagar is the biggest industrial city of the country. So it also provides many opportunity of job to the people.

Morang district consists of 7 electoral Constituency , 17 ilakas, 65 VDCs & 1 sub metropolitan city. Biratnagar is the headquarter of the district. Out of 65 VDCs 8 lies in the hilly region & 13 VDCs are linked with boarder of Bihar state of India.
